By adding real-time distance measurements to your aerial missions, this upgrade enhances situational awareness and improves data accuracy for infrastructure inspection, surveying, and energy asset monitoring workflows.
Live Distance Readout: Once installed, the LRF provides a live preview of the distance readout directly within Auterion Mission Control (AMC) at a 5Hz update rate.
Metadata Integration: When a photo is captured by the LR1 camera, the exact distance readout at that moment is automatically saved directly into the image's metadata, streamlining post-processing and photogrammetry workflows.
Lightweight & Plug-and-Play: Weighing just 45 grams, it has a minimal impact on flight times. It mounts securely to the side of the LR1 payload using four screws and plugs directly into the existing expansion port.
Powerful Sensor: Powered by an integrated Lightware SF20/C sensor, it provides highly accurate distance measurements up to 100 meters (at 70% reflectivity).
Stackable Upgrades: Need thermal and distance data? The LRF upgrade can be used simultaneously with the LR1 Thermal Upgrade (utilizing the larger counterweight plate included in the Thermal kit).
| Feature | Specification |
| Sensor Type | Integrated Lightware SF20/C |
| Maximum Range | 100 meters (at 70% reflectivity) |
| Update Rate | 5Hz (displayed in AMC) |
| Installed Weight | 45g |
| Compatibility | Any Freefly Astro equipped with the LR1 Payload |
The upgrade kit includes all necessary hardware to balance and mount the sensor directly to the LR1 gimbal:
1x Distance Sensor Module for LR1
1x Sensor module counterweight
2x M3 x 5 BHCS sensor mounting screws
2x M3 x 10 SHCS sensor mounting screws
3x M3 x 8 FHCS counterweight mounting screws
