DJI is known as the largest drone manufacturer in the world and has now announced their daring next move into the action camera realm with the release of the DJI Osmo Action. The Osmo Action will give users everything they need to capture any adventure featuring 4K/60fps, 8x Slow Motion, and HDR Video. With advanced RockSteady stabilization technology, the unit is also designed to provide users with extremely smooth, shake-free footage and waterproof in depths of up to 11 meters. With all of its advanced specs and new, unique features the Osmo Action is poised to be the perfect companion for any adventurer.
If you are vlogging or shooting behind the lens, the Osmo Action's innovative dual-screen design enables anyone to easily frame every shot with the touch of a button. The front screens enables users to adjust their shot in any setting, while the back screen features an intuitive, hyper-responsive display.
With years of experience and know-how mastering stabilization technology, DJI has gone even further and created RockSteady technology to stabilize footage better than ever before. By combining algorithms and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) users will shoot the most stable and smooth footage possible. EIS achieves this feat by increasing the shutter speed, as well as analyzing the images captured by the CMOS sensor and compensating by cutting off the edges of the images. By doing this, multiple frames can be overlaid and then combined into a single frame that is clear, sharp, and accurately exposed.
The Osmo Action is created to dramatically enhance the dynamic range of footage when users record in HDR video. In this mode, the Osmo Action captures natural transitions between light and dark areas, restoring details that can be lost in environments with complex or uneven lighting conditions.
With advanced shooting modes, the Osmo Action makes it easy for anyone to create a cinematic masterpiece with the simple tap of a button.
In this mode, users can shoot any moment with stunning clarity and detail using 8x Slow Motion with 1080p resolution at 240 fps.
With semi-automatic and manual settings that allow for up to 120 seconds of exposure, anyone can shoot the perfect starry night sky with just a tap of a button.
In Timelapse mode, users can capture any moment in time and have a memory that lasts forever.
In this mode, users can easily set up RAW shots that are ideal for post-editing.
DJI's Action OS is a fast, interactive system that combines streamlined UI with three buttons so that users can have quick, flexible operation of the Osmo Action. The recording, setting, and power buttons can all be easily accessed for ultimate convenience and control.
