2025 is ringing in with new DJI product rumours! The latest reports indicate the next release will be the DJI Flip. This drone appears to be an amalgamation of the DJI Neo and the DJI Mini series. Drone pilots who love the Neo but have been disappointed with its short battery life could potentially have the perfect upgrade waiting right around the corner.

The most unique feature of the DJI Flip appears to be the way that its quadcopter design folds for storage. The fully encased props will supposedly fold side-by-side under the drone. This will make the drone incredibly compact and easy to put in a small bag for most trips and outings.
The Flip is claimed to measure at 300 x 300 x 80 mm when unfolded. It should fall under the 250g limit, making it accessable to drone pilots of all backgrounds. The propellers appear to be fully encased for both drone and pilot safety, hypothetically making it an excellent choice for both indoor and outdoor flight.
The alleged camera specs are a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and 12K HDR videos at 60fps. Based on this information, it’s very likely that the effective pixels will be 12MP. These specs are compariable to the DJI Mini 4 Pro, which is DJI's highest quality mini-camera drone to date.
Battery life is rumoured to provide approximately 30 minutes of flight time with a charging time of only 45 minutes. This is a spectacular upgrade when compared to the DJI Neo's much shorter 18 minutes.
The newly designed charging hub will allow four batteries to be charged at a time in a top-loaded orientation, much like the original DJI Mavic chargers. Therefore, not only will the Flip fly longer than similarly designed drones, but charging could theroretically be more efficient too.

Other exciting features that are speculated include live first-person streaming, all the hands-free QuickShots from the DJI Neo, and vastly improved ActiveTracking.
Additionally, the Flip’s LiDAR sensor will likely enable Next-Gen Smart RTH, as seen on the DJI Air 3S.
If these features are true, the DJI Flip will revolutionize how content creators and streamers produce their content. They will no longer need complicated camera and tripod setups when they can simply put a DJI drone in the air.
Rumoured Pricing:
Many media outlets are stating the anticipated release is sometime around mid-January, which would coincide with CES 2025. Many are eagerly anticipating an impressive demonstration of this unique hybrid that is seeminly a DJI Mini 4 Pro and a DJI Neo rolled into one package.
The DJI Neo was already quite revolutionary when it was released, even despite its small limitations. If the stories are true, the DJI Flip will check off many features that Neo users already have on their wishlists for the next iteration.
