Key Features

• Seamless Astro Integration: Mounts natively to the Astro using the Freefly Smart Dovetail system. This single connection provides power and data communication from the camera to the ground station controller (and LTE network), allowing for seamless camera settings, shutter control, gimbal tilt, and image preview.

• Incredible Resolution: Equipped with the 61MP Sony ILX-LR1 camera body. This high pixel count allows operators to cover massive areas quickly at lower resolutions or capture incredibly detailed imagery at lower altitudes.

• Interchangeable Lenses: Ships with a lightweight Sigma 24mm f/3.5 mapping lens, but fully supports user-defined interchangeable lenses for different mission profiles (including tested support for Sony 35mm, Sony 50mm, and Samyang 75mm lenses).

• Expandable Architecture: Features three expansion ports that support additional cameras, sensors, and power out. It is fully compatible with add-ons like the LR1 Thermal Upgrade and the LR1 Laser Range Finder.

• Compliance Ready: Designed and assembled in the USA, the LR1 Payload is NDAA compliant and DIU Blue approved, making it suitable for sensitive government and enterprise operations.

Each payload ships ready to deploy in a rugged travel case with room for expansion:

• 1x Freefly Mapping Gimbal

• 1x Sony ILX-LR1 camera body (pre-installed in gimbal)

• 1x Sigma 24mm f/3.5 mapping lens 

• 1x USB-C thumb drive (for capturing geo-tagged JPG images)

• 1x SKB hard travel case with custom foam insert (fits the payload plus up to two additional lenses)

(Note: To mount this to an existing Astro drone, an Astro Isolator is required. Pilot controller is sold separately or included with new Astro drone purchases.)
