Performance That Powers Possibilities
Extended Flight Time with Real-World Payloads
With an optimized powertrain and intelligent energy management, the Matrice 400 can achieve up to 59 minutes of forward flight time and up to 53 minutes of hover duration, even when carrying payloads. This extended flight time enables professionals to cover more ground in a single mission, minimize downtime between battery swaps, and increase operational efficiency across a variety of industries, from emergency services to geospatial mapping and environmental monitoring.
Modular Payload System for Multi-Scenario Flexibility
The Matrice 400 is purpose-built to support a wide range of payloads and mission-specific tools, allowing operators to seamlessly adapt to different field requirements. The platform supports a single or dual downward gimbal setup and includes a third gimbal port for enhanced versatility. It is equipped with four E-Port V2 interfaces, enabling the simultaneous operation of up to seven payloads, including DJI native sensors, third-party devices, and onboard computing modules.
Payloads include:
Zenmuse H30 Series
A highly integrated multi-sensor payload with a wide-angle camera, zoom camera, infrared thermal imager, laser rangefinder, and NIR auxiliary light. Enhanced by intelligent imaging algorithms, it supports all-weather operation and superior object detection both day and night.
Zenmuse L2
Features a powerful LiDAR module, high-accuracy IMU, and 4/3 CMOS RGB mapping camera, enabling high-precision terrain modeling and topographic mapping at exceptional speeds and accuracy.
Zenmuse P1
Designed for photogrammetry, the P1 features a full-frame sensor and interchangeable lenses on a 3-axis gimbal. Ideal for large-scale survey missions requiring high-resolution and georeferenced images.
Zenmuse S1
DJI’s first spotlight payload, ideal for night-time public safety or inspection missions. It uses LEP technology for long-range illumination and supports adjustable lighting modes.
Zenmuse V1
A loudspeaker designed for emergency response and crowd control, capable of long-distance, high-volume broadcasts with multiple playback modes.
Manifold 3
An onboard AI computing module with 100 TOPS of processing power, enabling real-time object detection, mission-specific automation, and edge AI applications in the field.
Reliable Flight in Unpredictable Environments
Weather-Resistant and Rugged
The Matrice 400 is built to withstand harsh conditions. It holds an IP55 protection rating, which means it is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets from all directions. This allows it to operate confidently in light rain, snow, or dusty environments. Its internal systems are rated for temperatures from -20°C to 50°C (-4°F to 122°F), making it suitable for year-round missions in both hot and freezing conditions.
Advanced Obstacle Sensing
Combining rotating LiDAR, mmWave radar, and low-light fisheye vision sensors, the Matrice 400 is capable of sensing small, hard-to-see objects, such as thin power lines, even in low visibility conditions including fog, rain, and nighttime. This sophisticated sensing suite helps prevent collisions and allows the aircraft to fly safely around complex structures and through difficult environments such as dense urban areas or mountainous regions.
Next-Generation Transmission & Positioning
O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission
With a ten-antenna setup on the aircraft and a high-gain phased array antenna on the DJI RC Plus 2 controller, the Matrice 400 delivers stable, high-definition video transmission up to 40 km, even in environments with interference.
Cellular Redundancy & Relay Communication
Supports sub-2.4 GHz transmission and dual DJI Cellular Dongle 2 modules to automatically switch between carriers for the most stable signal available. The Airborne Relay Video Transmission allows one Matrice 400 to function as a relay station mid-air, enabling another drone to maintain a strong connection over greater distances or in blocked areas, such as behind mountains or tall buildings.
Smarter Flight Operations with Intelligent Features
Aircraft Fusion Positioning
Fused data from LiDAR, mmWave radar, and fisheye cameras ensures precise positioning, even in GPS-compromised environments. The drone can fly confidently near glass surfaces, towers, or cliff edges and safely return from non-ideal landing points.
Smart Detection & Tracking
With Zenmuse H30, operators can identify and track vehicles, people, vessels, or infrastructure elements in real time using visual and thermal sensors. Subject tracking, high-res grid photography, and thermal-based detection all work together to optimize situational awareness.
AR Overlays & Terrain Awareness
Display real-time AR overlays for power lines, map data, roads, and landmarks directly on the controller view. During both manual and automated missions, Real-Time Terrain Follow ensures the aircraft maintains a consistent height above varying terrain, which improves both image consistency and flight safety.
