Thermal - Siras

The FLIR SIRAS comes with dual thermal and visible cameras that offer critical information in real-time. The quick-connect Vue TV128 payload is equipped with MSX technology that layers visible-light outlines onto thermal imagery, giving you a comprehensive view of the situation. The 16MP visible camera has a powerful 128x zoom feature that enables you to zero in on the most minute details with crystal clear precision. Additionally, the integrated 640x512 pixel, radiometric Boson offers unparalleled thermal imagery that includes accurate temperature measurement and 5x digital zoom. Boson is also compatible with FLIR Thermal Studio analysis software.

Data security is another impressive feature of the SIRAS, as it stores all imagery on an onboard microSD card instead of on the cloud. Pilots can forego the need to create an online profile, creating tighter data security and protecting against data breaches. With best-in-class imagery, the flexibility of an interchangeable payload, and compatibility with the leading photogrammetry software, there’s no limit to what the FLIR SIRAS can accomplish.

Key Features

Siras Geofencing

No Geofencing

Geofencing is a location-based technology that uses radio frequency identification (RFID), GPS, Wi-Fi, or cellular data to track devices within a virtual geographic boundary. This is typically used to send marketing notifications to people’s smartphones when they come into close proximity to a store, but it can also be used to restrict the flight of some drones. Geofencing will repel a drone’s GPS receivers by creating barriers around certain geographical areas. This makes it impossible to fly into restricted areas without authorization.

The Teledyne FLIR SIRAS drone is built without the restrictive geofencing capability, making it free from geographical limits imposed on most enterprise drones. You won’t have to request authorization to fly in certain areas, nor will there be areas in which you are restricted from flying past a certain altitude. Without the restriction of geofencing, the FLIR SIRAS can go anywhere, anytime.

Thermal & visual cameras

The SIRAS has an interchangeable payload that houses both a thermal and visible camera. This includes the Vue TV128 radiometric thermal camera, which features a quick-connect, swappable gimbal. It also features patented MSX technology, which adds visible-light outlines to thermal imagery. This is a powerful tool that can enable users to glean more data from thermal scenes and determine the precise location of hotspots and other important thermal readings.

The FLIR SIRAS also comes with a 16MP visible camera capable of providing crisp, clear imagery from far away. With the use of 128x zoom, the visual camera can pinpoint smaller details without the user needing to fly the drone into any dangerous areas. This is incredibly beneficial for firefighters monitoring wildfires and other dangerous situations in which the drone can’t safely get too close.

The SIRAS features an integrated 640x512 pixel, radiometric Boson that provides absolute temperature measurement capabilities. This small, lightweight package can capture the temperature data of every pixel in the scene, making it especially useful in capturing temperature data for quantitative assessment. The radiometric accuracy offers ±5 °C (±8 °F) temperature measurement accuracy as well as a Spot Meter Accuracy software feature that assesses the accuracy of each temperature measurement in the scene.

The FLIR SIRAS provides imagery compatible with FLIR Thermal Studio and other leading third-party photogrammetry applications. Users can operate FLIR Thermal Studio to manage the thermal images they obtain from the drone, organizing data and streamlining thermal analysis. It can also help you enhance thermal videos to record and show your findings more clearly.

Under 60 second start up time

When you’re flying a thermal imaging drone on a life-or-death mission, every minute counts. Whether you’re fighting a wildfire or detecting lost persons in a search and rescue, you want to get up in the air as quickly as possible. The Teledyne FLIR SIRAS features a start up time of less than 60 seconds, allowing you to start your mission without delay. Pilots can gain visibility within less than a minute, maintaining control with a stable dual-band radio connection of 2.4 / 5.8 GHz.

31 minute max flight time

Being able to stay up in the air for longer is another important feature of any enterprise drone. With a max flight time of 31 minutes, pilots don’t have to worry about the SIRAS running out of juice mid-mission. It has enough time to stay in the air to complete most missions without needing to stop for a recharge.

Siras hot-swappable batt

Hot-swappable batteries

The FLIR SIRAS further eliminates power-related downtime with its use of hot-swappable batteries. These allow the pilot to refuel multiple drones with minimal delays, foregoing the need to shut down the drone in order to swap out the battery. Hot-swappable batteries allow for missions to last longer and minimize interruptions to make sure you get the job done right.

Safe and secure

This FLIR drone is designed with front collision avoidance to help enhance the safety of the drone while in flight. This allows firefighters and law enforcement to operate the drone with a greater sense of ease and security as they avoid obstacles in their path. The SIRAS is also designed with the security of data in mind, as it stores imagery on an onboard microSD card rather than in the cloud. In fact, it doesn’t include cloud connection capability at all, further cutting off the potential for data breaches.

FLIR goes even further to protect the data chain of custody by eliminating the need for their pilots to create an online profile. Not only does this make the SIRAS easier to use, but it also reduces the potential for any unintended online data access. In a world in which data breaches occur left and right, this emphasis on data security does much to protect the valuable missions of pilots.
