The Inspire 2, built with magnesium-aluminum, is a powerful, cinematic and photographic aerial tool that is capable of capturing footage that is worthy of the big screen. The Inspire 2 is compatible with the Zenmuse X4S and X5S cameras, which can record at high bit rates using H.264 and H.265 formats as well as compatibility with Apple ProRes and CinemaDNG RAW.
Not only does the Inspire 2 feature incredible shooting capabilities, the drone itself has also been upgraded in design and its capabilities. The Inspire 2 can accelerate up to 50 mph in just 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 58 mph. This makes it the ideal aerial platform for filming fast-moving subjects, sports, action footage, and more. The Inspire 2 also features a dual battery system, giving the drone up to 27 minutes of total flight time.
The Inspire 2 also features an advanced obstacle avoidance system so that pilots can fly with peace of mind. DJI has enabled the drone to detect objects in front, below, or even below the quadcopter. The drone is also capable of remembering its flight path in case the drone needs to initiate an emergency return to home landing without GPS enabled. The drone additionally features a 2-axis FPV camera so that pilots can either focus solely on piloting the drone, or shooting.
The Inspire 2 package features two batteries, a charger, an upgraded remote controller, extra set of propellers, a calibration plate as well as a carrying case for easy storage and transportation.
Zenmuse X5S
The Zenmuse X5S camera is a fully upgraded mirrorless, Micro Four Thirds camera specifically designed to capture stunning, Hollywood-level video and still footage from the airways.
The Zenmuse X5s can shoot 5.2K video at 30 fps as well as 4K video at 60 fps, and can additionally shoot 20.8-megapixel stills. With CineCore 2.0, the Zenmuse X5S can shoot 5.2L/30fps in CInemaDNG and 5.2K 30fps Apple ProRes. The camera features a dynamic range of 12.8 stops and supports up to eight standard M4/3 lenses including focal lengths from 9mm-45mm. The Micro Four Third sensor on the Zenmuse X5S provides users with high resolution, rich colour and incredible low light performance.

Upgraded Sense and Avoid
With forward and downward facing obstacle avoidance sensors that can avoid obstacles up to 30 metres ahead. The Inspire 2’s upward facing infrared sensors can scan obstacles 16’ above the drone which adds more protection if flying in tight, enclosed or indoor environments. The Inspire 2’s obstacle sensing system is active during normal flight, Return to Home and in all of the drones Intelligent Flight Modes.
Spotlight Pro
Spotlight Pro is an innovative flight mode that allows pilots to capture dynamic, creative and powerful tracking shots. By using advanced visual-tracking algorithms that lock onto a selected subject during flight, no matter what direction the drone is flying in that would once take a dedicated camera operator to accomplish. If the drones gimbal gets too close to reaching its rotational limit, the Inspire 2 will intelligently rotate itself in the same direction without affecting the flight controls or the shot that is being captured.
Spotlight Pro features two shooting modes including Quick Mode and Composition Mode. In Quick Mode, pilots can select any object and have the drone begin to track it. With Composition Mode, users can select their subject as well as the tracking position. When the subject enters the tracking position users can initiate tracking. During this mode, the gimbal can move during shooting for any compositional adjustments. Spotlight Pro comes available with all of the Intelligent Flight Modes including TapFly, Waypoint, ActiveTrack, and Point of Interest.
TapFly
Thanks to the onboard FPV camera that can separate the main camera view from the flight view, the Inspire 2 essentially has a dedicated TapFly camera. In this mode, users can simply tap anywhere on their screen in the FPV view to select their flight route and have the drone follow along that route so that pilots can just focus on their camera’s gimbal movements.
ActiveTrack
In ActiveTrack Mode, users can have their drone recognize a wide range of subjects including vehicles, animals, and people. Pilots can easily adjust to tracking profiles of their subject for more dynamic and creative shots.
Intelligent Return to Home
With the drones downward and forward facing vision system, the Inspire 2 can create a real-time map of the route it is flying as it flies. If the drone experiences a lost video transmission system it will activate Smart Return to Home and have the drone fly its original route and then change into a straight lane after it reestablishes its signal. Upon return, the Inspire 2 will use its main camera to detect obstacles that are 200 metres in front of too.
Video Transmission
Using DJI’s innovative Lightbridge technology, the Inspire 2 has a full transmission distance of up to 4.3 miles and can capable of delivering a 720p live-feed at a far range and a 1080p live feed at a closer range. Additionally, users can switch between both 2.4GHz or 5.8 GHz frequencies to avoid interference for a great signal. The Inspire 2 is also equipped to support a Master and Slave setup.
Flight Performance
The Inspire 2’s propulsion system can accelerate the drone up to 58 mph. The drone can accelerate from 0 to 50 mph in only four seconds and can even fly at a maximum angle of 40-degrees.
Dual Batteries for Extended Flight Time
The Inspire 2 is designed with a dual battery set up which extends the flight time and also give the drone added safety value. If one battery fails in the air, the other battery can continue to fly long enough for the pilot to safely land the drone. The Inspire 2’s propulsion system, is designed with a PWM signal with a serial port signal redundancy so that in the case that the PWM signal is lost, the drones transmission will be able to continue to the serial port.
Broadcast Mode
Pilots can live broadcast their video feed directly from the Inspire 2 using the drones dedicated 1080i50 and 720p60 transmission signal. The drone makes aerial live streaming directing to a monitor or tv as simple as connecting the transmitter of the Inspire 2 to a satellite truck.
